We are seeking a Civil Design Engineer with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent design-based degree. This role requires a minimum of 3 years' experience in the design and construction of site/civil, land development, and infrastructure projects. Experience in the Wilmington, Baltimore, and Washington DC corridor is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint. A solid understanding and use of hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software are essential. The candidate must have strong written, oral, and graphic communication skills to effectively interface with public agencies, clients, sub-consultants, and staff.
ResponsibilitiesConduct quality control reviews of engineering plans, calculations, and reports.Lead project engineering and design on various projects.Represent projects with city, county, state, and federal agencies.Undertake utility design work including storm drain, sanitary sewer, water, and conduits.Design stormwater management and erosion and sediment control plans.Handle maintenance of traffic, layout, grading and earthwork, cost estimating, plan and permit processing, and technical writing.Assist with preparation of weekly schedules and task coordination.Provide training and mentoring to staff.Coordinate the design review process and permitting through outside agencies and assist with client coordination.Essential SkillsMinimum of 3 years' experience with Civil 3D design.At least 2-3 years of experience in land development, stormwater management, sediment control, and grading.Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.Strong communication skills for interfacing with various stakeholders.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in the private sector is preferred, but public sector experience is also valued.Experience in the Wilmington, Baltimore, and Washington DC corridor is a plus.Degrees in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering are preferred but not required.Work EnvironmentThe role requires working in the office 3 days a week. You will be part of a land development team comprising approximately 25 people. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
