Job Title: Civil CAD Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a Civil Engineering Technician who will, under close supervision, perform basic functions requiring technical knowledge and the use of electronic applications, standards, and document control processes/procedures. This role involves creating or modifying deliverables, focusing on the development of site drainage, grading, and utility plans using Autodesk Civil 3D and Bentley Microstation. The position supports client needs related to water, wastewater, linear pipelines, and other water-related solutions.
Responsibilities
Understand and implement current engineering standards, systems, document control, departmental guides, and company policies and procedures.Proactively apply knowledge of company standards to ensure deliverables are accurate and compliant, supporting continuous improvement and change management efforts.Review design inputs for consistency and ensure deliverables comply with project-specific codes and standards.Broaden the use of applications to continuously evaluate and improve methods, processes, and procedures for deliverables.Create and develop deliverables based on various design inputs and perform basic computations such as material quantity estimates and dimensional checks.Coordinate deliverables with other groups involved in the project to minimize interference or errors, and support field activities.Support project finalization, including consolidating records for as-built drawings or information to take off as-built quantities.Focus on the needs of internal clients while understanding the main interests and drivers of external clients.Proactively seek and share knowledge of the latest technologies and processes, applying judgment and making decisions with respect to deliverables and input interpretation.Provide supervision, work direction, and guidance to others as needed.Essential Skills
Basic experience with Civil 3D, including the use of pipe/pressure networks, proposed grading surfaces, and plan and profile development.1 year of experience utilizing AutoCAD for grading and/or pipe or pressure networks.Diploma or Associates degree in a relevant field.Strong communication skills within a team environment.Willingness and ability to learn from colleagues and technicians.Additional Skills & Qualifications

This role offers a hybrid work environment with 2 days in the office and 3 days remote. The office is newly renovated, featuring lots of open space, collaborative work areas, single-use offices, and comfortable workspaces with bean bag chairs. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Leawood, KS.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
