DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker International is seeking a Civil Associate I- Highway/Roadway to join our growing Madison, WI team. Under the guidance of experienced engineers and project managers, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects. Duties will consist of the following:

Assists with design, construction documents, plan production, maps, basic reports, and other supporting documentation Assists with gathering background information related to a project site which includes reviewing as-built plans and mapping existing utility service Assists with the preparation of drawings such as those needed for highways and structures projects  Assists with quantities and project cost estimates  Coordinates with design technicians to ensure timely and accurate deliverables  Assists with document preparation for regulatory agencies to obtain required permits  Assists with preparation for client and project meetings  Attends internal project meetings and participates as necessary  Occasionally visits project sites, and reports findings to Engineers and/or Project Managers

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS 

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master’s Degree is a plus  0-2 years of related experience  Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is preferred  Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or MicroStation and Microsoft Office Suite preferred Possess strong written and verbal communication skills  Ability to efficiently work independently within a multi-disciplinary team and prioritize project assignments to meet competing deadlines 

COMPENSATION
The approximate compensation range for this position is $62,000- $75,000 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
