CIB LATAM Treasury - Associate

The LATAM CIB Treasury team is seeking a high-performing junior associate. The candidate will be responsible for supporting the development of CIB Treasury in LATAM, including the development of regional liquidity reporting tools and work practices, analysis of new business initiatives regarding liquidity, funding, and balance sheet impacts, and liaising with various stakeholders to communicate proposals and highlight risks. This role offers exposure across the organization and is an excellent opportunity for a candidate interested in a strategic view of the CIB’s activities within the region.

 

Job responsibilities

The team is looking for an associate who will act as one of the members of LATAM CIB Treasury team.  While the suite of projects can evolve, given the current level of regulatory and internal requirements for liquidity and funding analysis and reporting and the criticality of these functions in all ongoing business, there are generally a significant number of interesting and high profile projects that require leadership in this space.  The individual will be helping the expansion of the CIBT function and activities in LATAM, helping on performing liquidity reporting, oversight for provision of accurate and timely liquidity and funding inputs on new business initiatives, development of business-based MIS on changes in liquidity, funding, FTP/liquidity premium and interest rate metrics. In this role, the individual will require to act as a central point of contact for businesses and partners across CIB Treasury, CIB businesses, regional TCIO team and multiple internal stakeholders. 

 

The associate will act as a member of the LATAM CIB Treasury team, helping in projects related to liquidity and funding analysis and reporting, while meeting regulatory and internal requirements. The individual will assist in the expansion of CIBT functions and activities in LATAM, performing liquidity reporting and overseeing the provision of accurate and timely liquidity and funding inputs for new business initiatives. Additionally, the associate will develop business-based MIS on changes in liquidity, funding, FTP/liquidity premium, and interest rate metrics. The associate will engage with businesses and partners across CIB Treasury, CIB businesses, the regional TCIO team, and multiple internal stakeholders.

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

A dynamic individual with intellectual curiosity and a strong track record of insightful analysis and control focus coupled with project delivery.

Good working knowledge of Investment Bank products (Markets and Banking), along with financial theory and accounting principles.

Strong analytical, investigative problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a focused work ethic, good business sense, and demonstrated initiative.

Good communication skills (written and verbal), particularly the ability to communicate technical concepts.

Self-starter, able to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the capability to engage various functions, locations, and businesses.

A ‘hands-on’ team player who is equally comfortable carrying out detailed analysis independently or coordinating input from others.

Excellent working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint (including PitchPro).

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills 

Experience in participating in projects or initiatives, with a willingness to learn how to manage contributions from various groups.

Familiarity with data analysis tools like Alteryx, Python and Tableau is a plus, with a willingness to learn and develop these skills.

Previous experience in funding, liquidity, and regulatory developments.
