Sportsman Boats Mfg. is looking for a Chopper Gun Operator to play an extremely important role in building Sportsman Boats and leading the pace of the Lamination teams through operation set-up, maintenance, and break down of the chopper guns.
What you will do:
+ Complete TPM daily start up and shut down procedures in AIMSCO for all chop guns in use.
+ Complete 5S task card for daily tasks, weekly tasks, and monthly tasks.
+ Perform barcol hardness check to ensure the skin coat is to spec prior to beginning the bulk process.
+ Ensure the coremat is wetted out/rolled down properly to ensure there are no voids in the laminate.
+ Ensure the core is wetted out, embedded, and rolled down properly to ensure there are no voids in the laminate.
+ The bulk coat should be rolled out thoroughly with emphasis on removing as much excess resin as possible.
+ Verify that the correct catalyst is being used at the correct percentage based off the catalyst chart and shop temperature.
+ Ensure the transom board is installed flat with no voids.
+ Perform the glass to resin ratio check daily.
+ Ensure the chop thickness is correct on all skin coat
+ All skin coats should mil at 3oz. Large parts should be milled in 10 different areas. Small parts should be milled in 5 different areas.
+ Skin coats should be rolled out while using a light to make sure the laminate is defect free.
+ The skin coats should be rolled out thoroughly and be air free.
+ Verify that the correct catalyst is being used at the correct percentage based off the catalyst chart and shop temperature.
+ Perform the glass to resin ratio check daily
+ Make sure metal rollers are available and clean for all team members and spares are available
+ Keep metal rollers clean and available for all team members, as well as spares
+ Ensure that all scissors are clean and sharp, as well as having enough scissors to suit the size of the team
+ Ensure your catalytic equipment is filled every shift. There should be no partial, full, or empty jugs in your workstations
+ Ensure you have enough material to complete the job
+ Inspect the material label and verify that the material is within its shelf life from the date of manufacture
+ Ensure that the Sportsman Lamination Standards are met prior to the part leaving your workstation by repairing any affected areas
+ Sand surface enough to eliminate spikes to ensure the following laminate layer will be void free
+ Use an air nozzle to blow off the mold to remove dust and debris prior to laminating
+ Always maintain a safe work environment
To be considered you must have:
+ 2+ years of experience in manufacturing
+ Ability to speak and read basic English to comply with position, safety, plant & PPE procedures & requirements
+ Advanced communication skills to ensure knowledge from the Sportsman Business Management System is communicated to team members
+ Must be able to work overtime when necessary
Preferred Education and Experience
+ Bilingual Spanish/English strongly desirable
+ Experience in the marine/boating industry
