The Space Planner is responsible for delivering strategic and tactical space planning services that align with the client’s workplace standards, business objectives, and operational needs. This role involves collaborating with internal departments and external partners to develop efficient, cost-effective, and compliant space solutions that support both current and future occupancy requirements.Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Space Planning & Management
Interpret and apply the Client’s Design Standards Manual to ensure alignment with corporate design and business goals.Analyse business unit space programming data and develop efficient layouts based on specific building parameters.Prepare space plans and test fits to support informed decision-making by business units.Develop space plans for existing spaces, considering capacity, layout, and traffic flow.Provide space analysis and programming to support strategic planning and occupancy efficiency.Ensure all space plans conform to client standards and applicable building codes, accessibility requirements, and EHS policies.Support systems furniture layouts and evaluate reuse versus new procurement in collaboration with procurement teams.Stakeholder Collaboration
Work with internal departments to understand space needs and assist in completing space application forms within required timelines.Present space planning options to business units and stakeholders for review and approval.Collaborate with external architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors to ensure alignment with project needs and space plans.Obtain necessary approvals from Facilities and business unit executives before implementation.Project & Administrative Support
Review schematic design, design development, and construction drawings to ensure alignment with approved space plans.Assist in organizing meetings, preparing meeting minutes, and generating reports and presentations summarizing space planning activities.Maintain accurate records of all space planning projects and ensure transition of completed plans into the CAFM system.Site & Portfolio Support
Develop and maintain detailed site maps including building information, floor plans, workstation counts, room layouts, and site imagery.Provide preliminary space planning solutions to support new office selection or optimization of existing leased spaces.Ensure all proposed solutions are feasible, cost-effective, and implementable.Best Practices & InnovationApply industry best practices and leverage insights from other accounts to continuously improve space planning services.Review interior and exterior signage applications to ensure alignment with brand and marketing guidelines.Knowledge & Experience:
Proven experience in space planning, workplace strategy, or related fields.Strong understanding of architectural layouts, building codes, and workplace design standards.Proficiency in space planning tools and CAFM systems.Fluent in English and in Chinese.Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.INCO: “Cushman & Wakefield”
