Chiller Operator
**Job Title: Chiller Operator and Steam Mechanics Needed** **Job Description** The Chiller Operator is responsible for supporting the safe and efficient operation of University Centrifugal Chillers and other related equipment. This role ensures compliance with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and National Fire Protection Association codes and standards, while also monitoring and troubleshooting the chiller management system to serve the campus effectively. **Responsibilities** + Monitor and help troubleshoot the chiller management system controlling chilled water equipment. + Support the monitoring and maintenance of cooling tower water treatment controllers and associated equipment. + Perform daily rounds to inspect chiller equipment. + Support the sampling and testing of chemicals to maintain correct water chemistry for systems. + Work safely in accordance with OSHA standards and other federal regulations. + Complete preventative maintenance orders, work orders, and document work performed. + Communicate orally and in writing with department personnel and management to support chiller plant operation, maintenance, and repair. + Perform related responsibilities such as equipment validation and utilities management. **Essential Skills** + Five years of experience in Chiller Operation or industrial HVAC maintenance. + High school diploma or equivalent. + Two years of experience operating HVAC equipment. + Graduation from an accredited HVAC technical school or equivalent experience. + Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and bend, stoop, and twist. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + May require a valid Georgia driver's license and insurable driving record. + Experience in extreme weather conditions and high noise areas. **Why Work Here?** Join one of the leading and largest employers in Atlanta, GA, known for being a great employer and a staple in the community. The environment includes nearly 200 buildings split into 7 zones, each managed by a zone supervisor. The role includes some heights and public buildings, and does not involve private living areas. Chiller Operators will work a swing shift schedule, including day, evening, and night shifts. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlanta, GA. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
