Responsible for assessing, licensing and monitoring child care providers and child care centers for compliance with Cherokee Nation (CN) child care program standards within assigned counties

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTAssociate's degree from 2-year college or technical school; or two years (60 credit hours) coursework from 4-year college or university in Social Work, education, early childhood or related field, or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSAn additional one year experience in the child care field, social work, education or related work with children/youth and families is required.
LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
COMPUTER SKILLSTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSMust possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating. Employee is required to work in the field at various locations in assigned area to conduct monitoring visits, provide and attend child care training and events for a majority of the time.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONSMust meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care.
