**Position:**
Chief Medical Officer, Regional Operations
**Position Summary:**
Be a key leader within the Lumeris Clinical Team, driving how population health and value-based care come to life across our provider partnerships. In this role, you’ll serve as the clinical lead for Lumeris’ innovative Provider Population Health Services Organization (PHSO), working side-by-side with health systems and physician groups to transform how care is delivered.
You’ll collaborate across a dynamic, entrepreneurial organization to shape clinical operations, physician engagement, and care model design, using data, strategy, and clinical insight to improve outcomes, performance, and patient experience. **Job Description:**
**Primary Responsibilities**
+ Serve as the primary physician executive supporting health system and CIN partners across assigned markets.
+ Lead clinical strategy, performance management, and transformation work for value‑based contracts across multiple lines of business.
+ Partner closely with customer clinical leadership, and practice leaders to interpret performance insights and shape priorities.
+ Responsible for directing the improvement of clinical, quality, and financial outcomes for the operating partnerships.
+ Collaborate with market GMs, customer success and operational leaders to align clinical programs with operational capacity and partner priorities.
+ Co-lead implementation of cross-market clinical programs, including risk adjustment, high‑risk patient management, medical cost reduction programs, and specialty engagement initiatives.
+ Partner with Medical Economics to surface actionable cost‑of‑care drivers and prioritize interventions across inpatient, outpatient, procedural, and pharmacy domains.
+ Collaborate with the Provider Engagement and Customer Success team in clinical transformation and performance improvement initiatives.
+ Translate data into insights and recommended workflows for care teams, enabling improvement in utilization, quality, and site-of-service efficiency.
+ Support validation, safety review, and iterative refinement of AI agent services (e.g., TOM triage, outreach agents), ensuring evidence‑based, clinically credible workflows.
+ Provide clinical perspective to product teams on design, QA, safety monitoring, and post‑implementation improvement of AI-enabled solutions
+ Evaluate emerging AI-related regulatory guidance (e.g., FDA CDS guidance, CHAI/Joint Commission recommendations) and ensure alignment in Lumeris deployments.
+ Participate in business development meetings with prospective customers to present the Lumeris value proposition.
+ Contribute to the clinical thought leadership of the organization through presentations, case studies and publications.
**Qualifications**
+ Medical degree (MD or DO) with active board certification and a current, unrestricted medical license
+ Strongly preferred: Primary care clinical experience
+ Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
+ 15+ years of relevant experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role
+ 5+ years of successful clinical practice experience
+ 3+ years of health system, health plan or capitated provider experience with exposure to managing total cost of care, quality, and documentation and coding
+ Strong background in administrative clinical leadership
+ Deep understanding and experience with population health management strategies & value-based care
+ Background in clinical informatics or healthcare IT a plus
+ Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
+ Demonstrated track record of building productive working relationships internally and externally at all levels
+ Proven ability to positively impact clinical and financial outcomes
+ Working knowledge of AI applications in care delivery, including safety, governance, and workflow design.
+ Ability to translate complex analytics into operational and clinical strategy for diverse stakeholders.

Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay rate include your specific skills, experience, qualifications, location, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to the base salary, certain roles may qualify for a performance-based incentive and/or equity, with eligibility depending on the position. These rewards are based on a combination of company performance and individual achievements.
The hiring range for this position is:
$238,300.00-$350,575.00
