Chief Mechanical Engineer
Our client is a leading manufacturer of a wide range of material handling solutions including crane and rigging accessories, forklift attachments, and port & rail equipment. As a Chief Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering department where you will projects based on new product, existing, and prototype designs developing new or improved products, processes, techniques, along with keeping modularity across product lines as it makes sense. **Job Title:** Chief Mechanical Engineer **Location: Hazel Crest, IL OR Union City, TN** **Pay:** $100,000 – 140,000 **Key Responsibilities** + Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new and existing products. + Evaluate mechanical and structural systems for example but not limited to machine structures, winches/ gearboxes, motors, sheaves, drums, enclosures, and operator's cab. + Prepare component and system drawings (layouts, assemblies, installation drawings). + Component and system drafting, properly annotating drawings with dimensions, surface finishes, welds (AWS D14.1 or D1.1), and tolerance fits for manufacturing and machine assemblies. + Mentor other engineers by providing guidance, feedback, and support within the team and other supporting engineering teams. **Requirements** + Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Structural engineering. + 6+ years of work experience in aforementioned engineering discipline + Able to work in a structured 3-D environment. 2-D design a plus. Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks a plus. + Strong knowledge of mechanical and structural connections being bolted, pinned, or welded. + Proven track record of leading multiple projects and teams.
