Chemistry Lab Technician
Job Title: Fiber Lab Technician (Chemistry/Biochemistry/Food Science Emphasis)Job Description

Join our dynamic team in a fast-paced, high-volume commercial lab where you will play a crucial role in testing, analyzing, and reporting accurate and timely results for a variety of food samples. Our lab follows a complex three-day set of chemistry testing methods to reenact the digestion process, determining the fiber content in nutrition samples. Your work will support claims, nutritional data, and ensure regulatory compliance.

ResponsibilitiesOrganize workload and prioritize samples to maximize output and meet deadlines.Execute food testing methods and perform routine instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.Meet quality control and ISO requirements.Maintain a compliant work environment in accordance with safety rules.Provide cross-functional support across the organization as needed.Facilitate analytical testing including Enzyme Digestion, LECO, Ash Analysis, Protein Analysis, and some HPLC analysis.Handle multiple tasks, projects, and priorities with minimal guidance.Other responsibilities as required by the business.Essential SkillsMinimum of 2 years' experience in a lab setting and/or an AS or BS in a science-related field (preference for chemistry, food science, biochemistry, biology, or related).3-6 months of industry or quality lab experience/research/internship experience.Proficiency in basic laboratory skills, including accurate weighing, pipetting, quantitative transfer of solutions and samples, and preparation of solutions.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to use multiple computer systems (LIMS, Microsoft Office).Broad knowledge of food testing services.Understanding of HPLC or Protein Analyzers is a plus.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to flex work schedule to accommodate longer shift hours or weekend work.Work Environment

This is a full-time position, working 37.5-40 hours per week on the 1st shift, typically from Tuesday to Friday, 7am-5pm. The role requires wearing personal protective equipment such as face shields, hearing protection, steel-toed shoes, OSHA-approved safety glasses, laboratory coat, and cryogenic gloves. Our facility supports sample handling and distribution to the analytical lab for testing of food, beverage, and nutritional samples. You will be part of a team of 5-10 members in the Fiber Lab. We offer the flexibility of shorter workdays on Fridays during the summer, depending on the lab group.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
