**Job Title: Chemical Mixer** **Job Description**
This hybrid role involves both chemical mixing and bulk loading responsibilities. The primary focus is on the safe and efficient driving of a yard switcher and loading finished goods and raw materials into bulk tank wagons. The role requires meticulous weighing of tankers on the company scale, ensuring all paperwork aligns with the assigned tanker and related materials. Proper staging and inspection of connections from storage tanks or blend vessels to tankers are critical. Strong communication skills are essential for reporting issues or delays to shift supervisors.
**Responsibilities**
+ Drive a yard switcher safely and efficiently.
+ Load finished goods and raw materials into bulk tank wagons.
+ Weigh tankers in and out on the company scale.
+ Ensure paperwork matches the assigned tanker and related materials.
+ Inspect and connect storage tank or blend vessel to the tanker before loading.
+ Communicate any issues or delays to shift supervisors.
+ Move trailers on-site to support production.
+ Transport drum trailers from the dock to the yard as needed.
**Essential Skills**
+ Ability to move drums up to 500 pounds with a hilo safely.
+ Forklift certification from previous jobs.
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Ability to lift bags and containers up to 50 pounds safely.

+ Chemical Knowledge
+ Chemical Operator Experience
+ Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
+ Ability to stand for long periods and walk long distances daily.
+ Capability to work in small spaces and high locations.

**Work Environment**
The work environment can be cold in the winter and hot in the summer due to open doors. It is a dirty environment where teamwork is emphasized, although operators often work independently. Shifts include 1st (6am - 2:30pm), 2nd (2pm - 10:30pm), and 3rd (10pm - 6:30am), with current operations running 10-hour days.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of Detroit, MI.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $20.81 - $20.81/hr.
