Overview Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and experienced culinary leader to join our team as Chef de Cuisine. This will be a PM Shift. The ideal candidate will bring a creative, hands-on leadership style to a high-volume professional kitchen environment. This role is perfect for someone who is not only skilled in the culinary arts but also enjoys mentoring and developing talent, crafting seasonal and innovative menus, and leading a team to excellence. Please note: A tasting menu will be required if a second interview is scheduled. Key Responsibilities: Serve as the culinary face of the restaurant—representing both in-house and in the community. Create, cost, and implement seasonal and specialty menus that reflect current trends and ingredient availability. Recruit, mentor, and retain top culinary talent. Manage daily food ordering based on current par levels. Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager to consistently exceed guest expectations. Lead and train the culinary and front-of-house teams on new menus and daily specials. Conduct daily kitchen walk-throughs to identify and resolve issues related to cleanliness, maintenance, or organization. Hold daily team meetings to communicate expectations, updates, and assignments. Represent the culinary department at weekly F&B meetings, leadership meetings, and monthly safety meetings. Set the tone as a role model and uphold a strong kitchen culture. Control and analyze food and labor costs to maintain profitability. Possess comprehensive knowledge of food allergens and ensure guest safety with urgency and care. Oversee and ensure daily prep sheets are accurate and utilized by the team. Supervise nightly kitchen cleaning and work closely with the stewarding crew to ensure cleanliness and readiness for the next service. Qualifications Proven leadership experience in a high-volume kitchen Strong culinary creativity and the ability to translate vision into consistent, high-quality dishes. 5 + years’ experience as a Restaurant Chef or Chef de Cuisine in a high-volume, professional kitchen; with Upscale/Fine Dining experience A genuine passion for mentoring and team development Knowledge of local and state health regulations, including EcoSure food safety standards Strong organizational and time-management skills A flexible schedule, including availability on weekends and holidays. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Current food handler’s certification preferred (training available if needed) Minimum age requirement: 21 years Energetic, positive personality with a desire to exceed expectations.
