Job Description:
Emergency Department - Charge Nurse
PRN
Provides supervision of workflow and staff within the Department. Assures the provision of patient care by addressing performance, patient, family and physician issues/concerns as appropriate. Ensures on-going compliance with accrediting agency and State Licensure requirements. Shares knowledge of functions and standards to assist others in planning improvements; communicates information; designs materials and education programs; teaches; coaches and encourages recognition of achievement. Acts as a clinical resource and mentor/preceptor to staff. Operates within budgetary goals as defined by department executive. All employees will continually monitor and adhere to safety responsibilities and initiatives.

Current RN licensure recognized by the Kentucky State Board of Nursing is required.Associate Degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s Degree preferred)BLS, ACLS, PALS, Basic Cardiac Arrythmia, NIH Stroke Certification, Glucometer Training, 12 Lead, Aegis Training,Nurse Wound Care, TNCCMust obtain Basic Life Support (BLS)-American Heart Association within 90 daysMust obtain Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)-American Heart Association within 90 daysMust obtain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)-American Heart Association within 90 daysMust obtain Basic Cardiac Arrythmia within 6 monthsMust obtain NIH Stroke Certification within 6 monthsMust obtain Glucometer Training on hireMust obtain 12 Lead within 6 monthsMust obtain Aegis Training per identified needsMust obtain Nurse Wound Care within 30 daysMust obtain Trauma Nursing Care Course (TNCC) within 6 monthsWork Experience
