This contract will provide occupational medicine health services and electronic health records management for sworn staff from both the City of Phoenix (City) Fire and Police Departments as well as public safety personnel assigned to other jurisdictions throughout the region who have contracted with Phoenix Fire Department Health and Wellness Center (PFDHWC) for these services.

Physical Therapy Clinic Hours:
Physical Therapy (PT) Clinic hours are 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute lunch period that may vary in time of day, due to patient scheduling.
Responsibilities:
+ Designs and implements strength training and conditioning programs in a manner that reflects research-driven practices.
+ Works in cooperation with the physical therapy and athletic training staff in the rehabilitation and strengthening of injured members.
+ Facilitates a collaborative relationship between physicians, Peer Fitness trainers and other health care specialists at the PFDHWC.
+ Designs and implements policies and procedures for the strength and conditioning program in accordance with PFD standards and guidelines.
+ Develop systems for tracking member attendance and member progress in conjunction with the other fitness and wellness staff.
+ Stays up on current research in health and wellness both in general and firefighter specific.
+ Successfully completes training and educational courses as required.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Human Performance, or five years of experience in training adults for strength, conditioning, wellness and first responder job-related training such as for Fire department, police or military.
+ Strength and Conditioning Certification or Certified personal trainer.
+ A strong working knowledge and teaching skills in analysis and techniques of strength training.
+ Experience and/or expertise in strength and conditioning programming for the adult population.
+ Must hold at least one of the following 3 certifications:
+ Certified CSCS.
+ Certification from National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) or
+ Certification from (SCCC) Strength and Conditioning Coach from the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa)
+ USA Weightlifting (USAW) Level 1 or Sports Performance Coach
+ Certified Personal Trainer from a professional organization (American Council of Exercise, etc.).
+ Current (BLS) Basic Life Support certification.
+ Strong motivational abilities.
+ Ability to interact positively with PFD members, colleagues, and the public.
+ Strong organizational skills and effective oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Working knowledge of and experience with the IAFF/IAFC Wellness Fitness Initiative, NFPA 1582 and OSHA 1910 relating to firefighters.
+ Experience with tactical athletes in a first responder environment.
+ Preference may be given to candidates with experience working with college or professional athletes and/or tactical athletes.
This job is CONTINGENT upon contract award, client approval, completion of a favorable background investigation, and the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust / High Risk clearance.
Final compensation will be based on relevant factors including work experience, skills, certifications, and internal equity.
