Certified Project Manager

Location: Madison, WI (Hybrid / Onsite / Remote options may be available)

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Certified Project Managers to lead and support technical and IT-focused initiatives. This role will be responsible for driving projects from initiation through delivery, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring successful execution aligned with business and technical objectives.

The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in project management, best practices, technical fluency, and the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage multiple IT-related projects with varying complexityOwn the full project lifecycle, including planning, execution, monitoring, and deliveryDevelop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, and status reportsFacilitate project meetings and coordinate efforts across cross-functional teamsPartner with business and technical stakeholders to define scope, requirements, and success criteriaIdentify, track, and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependenciesManage scope, timelines, and budgets to ensure projects are delivered on time and within expectationsProvide clear, consistent communication on project status, risks, and deliverablesEscalate issues as needed and proactively recommend solutionsSupport documentation, change management activities, and handoff to operational teams

Required Qualifications

Active Project Management certification (PMP preferred; CAPM or equivalent considered)3+ years of experience managing technical, IT, or systems-related projectsStrong understanding of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid)Experience working with cross-functional technical teamsProficiency with common project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar)Strong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational, problem-solving, and stakeholder management abilities

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Experience

Experience with application implementations, system integrations, or technology upgradesBackground in enterprise or regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, finance, utilities, manufacturing, SaaS)Vendor or third-party management experienceFamiliarity with SDLC and technical delivery processesExperience in client-facing or customer-facing project environments
