Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Under the direction of the Nurse Manager or Director, and under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides compassionate, age-specific patient care in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams. This role supports safe, high-quality care by assisting with daily patient needs and promptly communicating changes in patient condition.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care across the lifespan in accordance with established standards
Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, mobility, nutrition, and comfort measures
Obtain and document vital signs and patient observations
Perform assigned clinical procedures and patient-related tasks as directed
Observe, report, and promptly communicate patient needs and changes in condition to the supervising Nurse or Physician
Accurately document all care provided and patient interactions in the medical record
Support a safe, respectful, and patient-centered care environment
Professional Practice:
Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and compassion in all patient interactions
Promote teamwork and effective communication within the healthcare team
Contribute to quality improvement and a culture of safety
Hourly Pay Rate: $16.87 - $24.88The night shift pay differential will be paid at 18% of the employee's base rate of pay. The weekend shift pay differential will be paid at 8% of the employee's base rate of pay.
Qualifications Education: Prefer a high school diploma or GED. Experience: Prefers at least one (1) year of relevant nursing assistant or healthcare-related experience. Specialized Training: Must successfully complete approved Valleywise Health computer classes. Certification/Licensure: Requires licensure through the AZ Board of Nursing as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Requires BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center upon hire. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Bilingual is preferred. Must have the ability to work with culturally diverse people. Requires excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills. Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
