Sentara Medical Group has a unique opportunity for a LPN or Medical Assistant to join The Dedicated Care Center (DCC) in Norfolk, VA!
What makes the Dedicated Care Center unique? We are Sentara’s only concierge practice. We pride ourselves in being able to dedicate more time to spend with our patients by having smaller panel sizes. We offer weekday office hours (which means no weekends), potential for staff to earn monthly incentive pay and each staff member has their own personal office space!
As a LPN or Medical Assistant with the DCC, you will work directly with a doctor conducting both clinical and clerical duties. This position's primary responsibilities include bringing the patients into rooms, taking vitals, verifying patient information, and preparing them for their visit. You will find that teamwork is exceptional, with everyone working together to ensure the best care for our patients.
The Medical Assistant performs patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). One of the following certifications is required upon hire: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or EMT Basic Certification (EMT).
The Medical Assistant provides an environment for safety; identifies, addresses, and incorporates principles of safety for the patient, visitors, and employees. Provides patient care tasks and procedures and administrative duties (as appropriate). Demonstrates the ability to objectively assess a specific situation from a number of viewpoints considers an array of alternatives, assists with the development of realistic action plans and evaluates outcomes. Demonstrates the development of the specific skills and knowledge required of medical assistants, effective inter-departmental interactions, and ability to follow department and system policies, procedures, and practices. Productive and efficient in daily operations. Utilizes appropriate resources that are safe, effective, ethical, and fiscally responsible. Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.
