Certified Medical Assistant – Family Health Department

USGP is currently seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support the Family Health Department at MacDill Air Force Base. This is an excellent opportunity to serve military service members, their families, and veterans in a mission-driven healthcare environment.

Position Highlights:

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Completion of a Medical Assistant program accredited by CAAHEP, ABHES, or a formal U.S. Armed Forces medical training programCertification:Current certification as a Medical Assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), or other nationally recognized certifying bodyCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or a military training programExperience: Minimum of one year of experience as a Medical Assistant after graduation

Immunization Requirements (Must be current or able to obtain):

Hepatitis B (series and titer)Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)Varicella (Chickenpox)TB (Tuberculosis) testSeasonal Influenza (flu) vaccineCOVID-19 vaccine (if applicable)

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointmentsAssist with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfersRecord and monitor vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, weight, and oxygen saturationCollect and document patient medical history, medications, allergies, and chief complaintsPerform basic diagnostic procedures as directed by healthcare providersMaintain stock levels and cleanliness in exam roomsComplete lab and radiology requisitions in accordance with clinic guidelinesAccurately enter patient data into the electronic health record system during check-in and check-out
