Responsible for maintaining policies and procedures for food operations and ensure food safety including proper nutrition of residents according to nutrition principles. Provides oversight at the direction of department leadership to coordinate routine work activities and daily oversight of key functions of the food service department over the normal course of business. Provides guidance on non-routine and/or escalated issues.Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborates with leadership in the development, interpretation and implementation of policies and procedures. Ensures policies and procedures are reviewed and updated on a regular basis to maintain compliance with any changes to federal, state, local, or other regulatory requirements.Directs the daily operations of the department, including but not limited to menu planning, purchasing, ordering, inventory and preparation to ensure staff has the appropriate equipment, inventory and resources to perform job duties. Establishes operating standards to implement quality improvements and communicates to both staff and ministry leadership.Collaborates with leadership to assist in completing clinical needs as necessary including monitoring for weight loss and wound care.Adheres to HACCP guidelines and complies with all safety and risk management policies and procedures.Monitors and assures food that is served meets quality, taste, presentation and portion standards.Trains and coaches staff as needed.Prepares and distributes work schedules and task assignments for assigned group. Evaluates requests for time off and schedule changes and approves or declines following policy. Works with department leadership to ensure staffing levels are adequate to meet needs. Coordinates changes to schedules as needed related to staff availability or work volume.Communicates to supervisor/manager of any operational concerns, staff performance or potential policy violations related to attendance or schedules.Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.Performs other duties as assigned.EDUCATION
