Job Title: Avionics Certification Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Avionics Certification Engineer who can work independently, take initiative, propose innovative ideas, and seamlessly adapt to changing priorities with minimal supervision. This role involves working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment to ensure successful avionics integration and STC certification.
Responsibilities
+ Lead Part 25 and Part 23 STC programs for the installation of airborne equipment on aircraft.
+ Initiate and manage STC programs with the FAA or ODA, coordinating with operators and other stakeholders.
+ Prepare certification documents such as certification plans, compliance checklists, safety assessments, and conformity plans.
+ Support certification compliance activities, including conformity inspections and FAA-witnessed ground functional and EMI testing.
+ Ensure adherence to established processes and promote continuous improvement.
+ Coordinate and support parts and installation conformity inspections.
+ Maintain project schedules and communicate progress effectively.
+ Provide solutions based on engineering research, analysis, and interpretation.
+ Generate product design and certification documentation in accordance with DO-178, DO-254, DO-160, and other applicable airworthiness standards.
+ Support activities related to real-time aircraft data systems that enhance operational efficiency, safety, and performance.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
+ Minimum of 4 years of experience in Avionics Integration and/or STC certification.
+ Experience running Part 25 and Part 23 STC programs for avionics installations.
+ Working knowledge of FAA and foreign CAA coordination and certification processes.
+ Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD.
+ Strong communication skills.
+ Experience with FAA Certification Planning.
+ Program management skills.
+ Familiarity with compliance processes and ODA.
+ Testing and inspection expertise.
+ Knowledge of avionics and Supplemental Type Certification (STC).
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Miami, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $62.50/hr.
