Cerner PACs Administrator - Radiology and Cardiology

CTG is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cerner PACs Administrator to join our team **.**
The Cerner PACS Administrator is responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, and optimization of the Cerner Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) across Radiology and Cardiology service lines. This role ensures reliable image acquisition, storage, retrieval, and distribution while supporting clinical workflows, imaging modalities, and integration with the Cerner Millennium ecosystem. The administrator partners closely with imaging leadership, cardiology teams, IT infrastructure, and vendor support to maintain high system availability and exceptional clinical performance.
**Key Responsibilities**
**System Administration & Support**
+ Manage, configure, and maintain Cerner PACS for Radiology and Cardiology, including RadNet and Cardiology PACS modules.
+ Monitor system performance, storage utilization, and image routing to ensure optimal uptime and workflow efficiency.
+ Troubleshoot PACS issues related to image acquisition, modality connectivity, DICOM errors, and user access.
+ Maintain modality worklists, imaging protocols, and system dictionaries.
+ Oversee image lifecycle management, including archiving, retention policies, and purging.
**Integration & Technical Operations**
+ Support integration between PACS, Cerner Millennium, VNAs, cardiology systems (e.g., CVIS), and imaging modalities (CT, MRI, US, Cath Lab, Echo, Nuclear Medicine).
+ Collaborate with network, server, and storage teams to ensure system stability and performance.
+ Manage DICOM, HL7, and IHE workflow standards across Radiology and Cardiology environments.
+ Coordinate upgrades, patches, and system enhancements with internal teams and Cerner/Oracle Health.
**Workflow Optimization & Clinical Support**
+ Partner with Radiology and Cardiology leadership to streamline imaging workflows and improve turnaround times.
+ Support technologists, radiologists, cardiologists, and clinical staff with PACS functionality, troubleshooting, and workflow questions.
+ Develop and maintain documentation, SOPs, and training materials for end users.
+ Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including image quality review and workflow audits.
**Governance, Security & Compliance**
+ Ensure PACS configuration aligns with HIPAA, Joint Commission, and organizational security standards.
+ Manage user roles, permissions, and audit logs.
+ Support disaster recovery planning and testing for imaging systems.
+ Maintain compliance with imaging retention and regulatory requirements.
**Project & Vendor Management**
+ Lead or support PACS-related projects, including new modality installations, workflow redesigns, and system expansions.
+ Work with Cerner/Oracle Health and third‑party vendors to resolve issues and implement enhancements.
+ Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support.
**Qualifications**
**Required**
+ Experience administering Cerner PACS, RadNet, or Cerner Cardiology solutions.
+ Strong understanding of Radiology and/or Cardiology imaging workflows.
+ Hands-on experience with DICOM, HL7, modality worklists, and imaging network architecture.
+ Familiarity with imaging modalities (CT, MRI, X‑ray, Ultrasound, Cath Lab, Echo).
+ Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $110,000 to $125,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
