Walt Disney World Manufacturing is seeking a Technical Estimator with a strong background in high‑complexity, low‑volume manufacturing. This role supports machining, welding, electrical, assembly, paint, and fiberglass scopes of work by building detailed, accurate cost estimates that enable informed decisions for business growth.
This position reports to the Manufacturing Manager.
What You Will DoEvaluate specifications, drawings, vendor quotes, and project requirements to define scope of work and develop comprehensive cost estimatesProvide cost analysis and guidance to Project/Overhaul teams throughout all project phases, including support for change‑order negotiationsDevelop accurate estimates using incomplete or ambiguous information with minimal supervisionCollaborate across multiple partners to create aligned estimates, manufacturing strategies, risk mitigation plans, and production forecastsDeliver clear, data‑driven analysis that supports cost certainty and serves as a trusted resource for project and senior leadershipUnderstand client needs and balance budget, cost, and lead‑time constraints to support efficient service deliveryProduce clear estimate scope narratives for both clients and manufacturing personnelEvaluate and refine estimating processes and workflows to improve efficiency and consistencySupport Annual Operating Plan (AOP) development in partnership with Project/Overhaul teamsProvide ongoing estimating support to Project/Overhaul teams as neededParticipate in VPI Walks and provide analytical supportRequired Qualifications & SkillsSafety‑conscious professional who consistently prioritizes "Safety First"Experience as a technical estimator, planner, or in a similar roleMinimum 2 years of experience in a maintenance, planning, or manufacturing environment with exposure to design and manufacturing principlesAbility to read and interpret mechanical and assembly drawings and resolve technical issues with partnersStrong collaboration skills with experience working across multiple stakeholders and handling confidential informationAbility to synthesize multiple data sources into clear insights and recommendations and communicate effectively to audiences at all levelsConfident communicator with strong written and verbal presentation skillsExperience maintaining accurate data and explaining data‑driven outcomesExperience with component procurement and cost normalization for fair comparisonStrong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlinesHigh attention to detail and accuracy; ability to work independentlyProficiency in standard office software and mobile electronic devicesIntermediate proficiency in Excel and working knowledge of Power BI and/or TableauPreferred QualificationsExperience in a manufacturing environmentWorking knowledge of SolidWorks/CADExperience using Maximo and SAPRequired EducationBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or equivalent experienceAdditional InformationBenefits and Perks: Disney offers a rewards package to help you live your best life.
