Job Title: Centerless Grinder

Job Description

Operate a variety of equipment to produce wire products, ensuring optimal machine uptime and product quality. Metrics include achieving specific lbs per man hour throughout the year, such as 1800 lbs/hour for side winder products with at least 50% uptime and 1200 lbs/hour for multi-hole products with 70% uptime.

ResponsibilitiesRun and manage centerless grinding machines efficiently.Ensure the quality of products produced meets company standards.Operate equipment safely and support company safety initiatives.Be accountable for the safety, delivery, and expectations of the machines.Work collaboratively as a team, operating one to two machines simultaneously.Train and mentor new operators, fostering an accountable environment.Essential SkillsExperience with manual grinders and centerless grinding.Proficiency in using Cincinnati Automatic Feed and in-line bar grinders.Ability to operate both manual and CNC grinders.Skilled in using calipers, micrometers, and surface grinding tools.Understanding of tolerances and precise measurements.Additional Skills & QualificationsAccountability: Acknowledge and learn from mistakes.Teamwork: Willingness to support fellow operators.Integrity: Responsible for one's actions and professional behavior.Respect: Mutual respect towards colleagues.Commitment to excellence: Dedicated to achieving high standards.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Work alongside a lead and an operator. Expect occasional pre and post-shift work or Saturdays, with schedule updates provided by Thursday noon. Operate three total machines in a dynamic environment with 30-minute unpaid breaks and paid company holidays.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Freeport, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
