Job Title: Cell Operator
Job Description

This role is for a Cell Operator who will oversee the system upkeep and operations of automated adapters that interface with the conveyor system structure. The Cell Operator is responsible for ensuring system readiness to meet performance targets and utilizing Human/Machine Interface (HMI) terminals to effectively manage equipment. The role focuses on the inbound side, requiring the organization of pallets and products, identification, labeling, and scanning into the system, and manually lifting boxes onto conveyors to integrate them into the robotic structure.

ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with OSHA and customer processes and procedures daily.Perform pre-production checks on automated adapters to ensure equipment readiness.Monitor and manage the flow of the automated storage and retrieval system using adapters.Prepare pallets for induction into the storage and retrieval system.Assess system stoppages and return to service using HMI and manual intervention.Assist team members in system operation troubleshooting.Analyze recurring faults and determine corrective actions.Communicate and escalate production-impacting issues to leadership.Contribute to system uptime through preservation, robot recovery, and other actions.Recommend process and continuous improvements.Perform periodic system inspections, including cleaning and maintenance.Report and perform root cause corrective action on out-of-spec conditions.Maintain continuous operation of system components.Utilize radio communication for instructions from leadership.Perform upkeep on rover bots, including wheel replacement and cleaning.Recover automated robotic vehicles in the Matrix select system.Assist Automation technicians with breakdown calls and system availability.Essential Skills1+ years of experience in manufacturing, either as a Machine Operator or in Entry Level Maintenance.Proficiency in using touchscreens, computers, and mobile cell phones.Strong problem-solving skills to identify and communicate issues.Consistent work history with strong attendance.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or trade school education is preferred.Technical skills in automation, production, machine operation, mechanical, robotics, preventive maintenance, and repair.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Work within a distribution center equipped with an automated racking system, multiple robotic arm cells, and 300 robots. The environment includes areas with heights up to 45 feet and restrictive spaces of 24 inches. Employees must be capable of working in temperatures ranging from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit, with protection from weather conditions but not temperature changes.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Melrose Park, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
