Support manufacturing and distribution operations by transporting finished goods and materials between facilities in a safe, timely, and compliant manner
Serve as a critical link between production and warehousing to ensure product flow and on-time delivery
Operate commercial vehicles while maintaining compliance with all safety, transportation, and quality requirements
Contribute to a safe, organized, and efficient work environment through equipment inspections, housekeeping, and adherence to procedures
A typical day in this role may include:
Transporting finished goods and materials between plant and warehouse locations
Loading and unloading trailers safely without dock locks, including securing trailers and opening doors
Preparing shipments by pulling orders, wrapping loads, inspecting trailers, and completing required documentation
Performing pre-shift inspections and basic preventive maintenance on trucks and equipment
Communicating and responding to issues that impact safety, quality, or production flow
How You Will Impact Smurfit Westrock
Transport finished goods and materials between manufacturing and warehouse locations in accordance with delivery requirements
Follow all transportation regulations and company safety standards
Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently, including securing trailers and inspecting loads
Prepare shipments for release, including order pulling, load wrapping, and finished goods trailer inspections
Deliver inbound and returned materials to designated locations within the facility
Inspect product rolls and complete damage inspections and reports as required
Generate barcodes and maintain accurate shipping and inventory records
Maintain a clean and safe work area while supporting overall workplace safety
Perform preventive maintenance, equipment upkeep, and required pre-shift inspections
Support workplace organization and cleanliness standards
Work effectively in a fast-paced environment to maintain product flow
Identify and respond to upset conditions in a safe and appropriate manner
Report safety, environmental, facility, or product quality risks promptly
Follow all applicable policies, procedures, and work instructions
Participate in continuous improvement efforts, corrective actions, and training
Safely operate motorized and manual pallet jacks and other certified equipment
Perform other duties as assigned
What You Need to Succeed
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Valid Class A CDL license
Ability to work safely in a manufacturing and warehouse environment
Ability to load, unload, and secure materials safely
Ability to perform pre-shift inspections and basic equipment maintenance
Strong attention to safety, quality, and detail
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
Preferred Skills and Attributes
Previous fork truck or material handling experience
Familiarity with shipping, receiving, and inventory documentation
Ability to work independently while supporting team operations
Strong time management and task prioritization skills
