THE ROLE
The Catering Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the planning, setup, execution, and breakdown of banquets, catered events, and special functions to provide guest with a top-notch experience and unparalleled service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist with the planning, organizing, and execution of all functionsCoordinate the movement of equipment for all eventsGreet the event coordinator and respond to all requestsResponsible for the inventory of equipment, small wares, disposables, and beveragesOversee general cleaning tasks using standard products as assigned in accordance with health and safety standardsAttend all mandatory meetingsPerform other duties as assigned by leadershipRead roll call(s) prior to events to inform staff about event particulars and expectationsSupervise Food and Beverage service and event room set-up and clean upSupervise house-persons and the stewarding team during the set-up and break-down of eventsConsistently liaise with Facilities, Catering, and Culinary for any last-minute changesSupervise general cleaning tasks in accordance with health and safety standardsReport all safety incidents (injuries and illnesses) into the company’s risk management system (Origami Risk) on the same day that the safety incident has been reported to you, or that you have witnessedQUALIFICATIONS

Must be at least 18 years of ageMust have a high school diploma or its equivalent – some college preferredMust hold active Food Handler CertificationMinimum of two (2) years’ experience as a server in a fast-paced, upscale food and beverage establishmentAbility to strictly adhere to, and enforce, company uniform standards, including the ability to maintain personal hygiene and a well-groomed appearance, in accordance with policy, at all timesMastery of and fluency in the English language – a mustExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to effectively listen and take direction/instructionAbility to effectively communicate with team members and guestsConversant in multiple languages – a plusSkilled in Microsoft Office Suite of applications (i.e., Excel; PowerPoint; Word)Must be naturally personable, friendly, and welcomingMust possess strong organizational skills with the ability to make quick and accurate decisionsMust possess basic knowledge of food and beverage preparationsMust possess excellent knowledge of service standards, guest relations, and etiquette as well as knowledge of the appropriate table settings, service ware, and menu itemsMust possess the highest level of demonstrable professionalism and customer serviceAbility to perform calmly under pressure for extensive periods of time while maintaining absolute professionalismAbility to work extended hours and flexible shifts including mornings, nights, weekends and holidaysAbility to remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu itemsA natural willingness and drive to exceed the guest expectationsAbility to lead, with the support of banquet/special event leadership, a team during set up and execution of serviceAbility to follow and encourage the team to follow all safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to looking for and reporting all unsafe work conditionsSufficient mobility to perform assigned tasks, to include constant bending, pulling, pushing, and reaching for extended periods of timeAbility to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds on a continuous basisCOMPENSATION
Hourly Rate of $22 - $26, commensurate with experience.
