Job Responsibilities:

Main areas of responsibility:

1. Strategic Sourcing:

Develop & implement sourcing strategies for purchased parts outside the conventional scope of Exteriors to meet the company's operational & financial objectives and future product strategyConduct market analysis to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilitiesLead cross-functional teams to evaluate, select and develope suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and service

2. Supplier Management:

Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure long-term partnershipsMonitor supplier performance and implement improvement plans as necessaryConduct regular supplier audits to ensure compliance with company standards and requirements

3. Contract Management:

Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure the best possible terms for the companyEnsure all contracts are compliant with legal and regulatory requirementsManage contract lifecycle, including renewals and amendments

4. Cost Management:

Develop and manage a competitive supplier base, ensuring alignment with the company's financial goalsIdentify cost-saving opportunities and implement initiatives to reduce procurement costsTrack and report on cost performance metrics

5. Risk Management:

Identify and mitigate risks associated with the supplier relationshipDevelop contingency plans to address potential supply chain disruptionsUtilize supplier innovation while minimizing dependency

6. Market Intelligence:

Stay informed about market trends, emerging technologies, and industry developmentsProvide insights and recommendations to senior management based on market intelligence

7. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with pre-development, engineering, operations, finance, and other departments to understand their requirements and ensure alignment with procurement strategiesLead cross-functional teams in the execution of sourcing projects and initiatives

Education and professional experience:

5+ track record in Strategic Procurement and/or leadership function in a divisionPrevious experience with assigned categories preferredExperience with regional/global sourcing and supplier managementKnowledge of the automotive industry and its specific requirementsProven track record of developing and executing successful sourcing strategiesStrong negotiation, communication and contract management skillsExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentProficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft OfficeAwareness, Unity, Empowerment:At Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
