About the Role
The Category Manager, Softlines is responsible for supporting the commercial growth and strategic execution of Disney’s Fashion & Home categories in Indonesia. The role manages a portfolio of existing licensee partners, drives new business development, and contributes to category planning, product development, and revenue delivery.
The role requires a commercially minded operator who can build strong licensee relationships, execute category strategies, and translate market insights into tangible growth opportunities across both physical and digital retail channels.
Responsibilities:
Category Strategy & Market Execution
Support the implementation of the long-term strategy for the Fashion & Home category in collaboration with the Senior Category Manager and Country Director.Conduct market and trend analysis, monitor retail performance across channels, and track competition to improve Disney’s market share.Develop and execute local category plans aligned with country and regional strategies.Contribute to the annual operating plan and quarterly forecasting process.Use consumer and commercial insights to identify growth opportunities, target partners, and emerging category white spaces.Revenue & Account Management
Manage a portfolio of licensee partners, with responsibility for achieving assigned annual revenue targets.Lead key account management for allocated partners, focusing on sustainable growth, product expansion, and performance optimization.Drive joint business planning with licensees, including performance reviews, growth initiatives, and marketing KPIs.Ensure timely and accurate submission of product approvals, sales reports, forecasts, and payments.New Business Development
Identify and onboard new licensee partners that strengthen the Fashion & Home category.Execute new business pitches and support product launch planning.Conduct research projects to evaluate scalable opportunities and emerging distribution channels.Support contract negotiations for allocated Fashion & Home accounts.Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Finance, Retail, Marketing, and Creative teams to drive category objectives.Coordinate with Marketing teams to support promotions, events, and brand initiatives.Coordinate with Retail teams to manage the distribution of licensee products across both online and offline retail channels.Collaborate with Creative teams to inspire product development that is on-trend and commercially viable.Contribute to market meetings and provide regular franchise and category updates.Governance & Compliance
Communicate International Labour Standards (ILS) requirements and act as liaison with the TWDC ILS team as directed.Ensure licensees implement Disney visual merchandising programs and branding guidelines.Requirements:
5–7 years of experience in fashion buying, merchandising, product development, or commercial sales; experience in consumer products or licensing is an advantage.Solid understanding of fashion trends, consumer insights, and local retail markets in Asia.Experience working with e-commerce platforms, including online sales processes, digital marketing, and trend analysis.Strong commercial acumen, with experience in forecasting, data analysis, and translating insights into growth actions.Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with partners and internal teams.Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.Strong influencing, negotiation, and presentation skills.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote).Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia (written and spoken), Mandarin speaking ability is a plus
