**Role Definition**
As part of the Steel Components Mexico team, the Category Buyer is responsible for managing the Machined SBQ, rods, and tubes categories. The role provides supply network and sourcing expertise, applying Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, and Management (QCLDM) principles to deliver maximum value to the business. This position supports supply base localization in Mexico and works in close collaboration with the extended global sourcing team.
**Responsibilities**
+ Developing, managing and executing the category strategy managing policies, agreements, source catalogs, and special procurement programs.
+ Recognizing the potential for cost decreases, inventory reductions and quality improvement, as well as responsibility for soundness of business proposals and risk assessment.
+ Acting as the liaison between the organization and the supplier to communicate information explicitly, while considering production demands and suppliers' conditions.
+ Documenting the suppliers' performance on time sensitiveness and production; maintains a strong relationship with suppliers.
**Degree Requirement**
+ Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Materials, Metallurgical), Business Administration, Supply Chain, International Business or related.
+ Advanced proficiency in English is required, including strong reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.

+ Performs foundational procurement activities by accurately documenting purchasing actions, using established systems and tools, ensuring regulatory and contractual compliance, and following required steps throughout the procurement process
**Supplier Relationship Management** :
+ Strengthens supplier relationships by following organizational SRM policies, communicating effectively during contract preparation, analyzing and resolving relationship challenges, monitoring key supplier satisfaction, and addressing critical issues collaboratively with external partners.

**Additional Information**
On-site work based in Santa Catarina, Nuevo León
Work schedule: Monday to Friday 7am-4pm.
Availability to travel up to 30% of the time is required (national and internationally)
