**Job Description** **Housing & Food Services (HFS) has an outstanding opportunity for a Carpet Cleaner to join their team.** Housing & Food Services supports over 10,000 student residents and operates 40+ dining locations on campus. With a team of over 1,200 staff and students, HFS is dedicated to enhancing student life through teamwork and excellent service. **Description of Duties** + Use equipment including but not limited to the following: truck mounted unit, scrub wand, rotary carpet extractor, hard surface rotary tool, upright vacuum, and bonnet machine. + Maintain log and submit reports on labor and material costs based on square footage cleaned. + Schedule; obtain keys, and clean apartments, residence hall rooms and public areas in units, which are both vacant and occupied. + Participate in periodic training in use of chemicals and supplies, and in carpet and upholstery fabric cleaning. + Maintain inventory of equipment and products for purchase and for scheduling maintenance. + Perform minor mechanical maintenance on carpet cleaning equipment. + Work in locations within the Department as well as other University facilities without direct supervision. + Establish and maintain good public relations with students and staff. + Clean upholstery using portable cleaning equipment. + Perform custodial duties as assigned. + Drive University vehicles to deliver items and commute to various HFS locations in or around campus + Perform occasional pressure washing + Perform related duties as required **Minimum Qualifications** Six months’ custodial experience. A valid Washington State Driver’s License may be required. Physical ability to do required work.
