Carpenter (Seasonal) About the Role & Team We are a production company specializing in the setup and teardown of sets for live events and productions. As a Seasonal Carpenter, you will be responsible for building, installing, and repairing structures, fixtures, furniture, and other items using a variety of materials including wood and steel. This is a hands-on role that supports fast-paced, deadline-driven projects. Your Day to Day + Prepare layouts and measurements for assigned projects + Estimate height, width, length, and other proportions + Select appropriate materials for each build + Read and interpret blueprints and instructions from supervisors + Work with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, drywall, and metal + Use hand and power tools including chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders + Join materials using nails, screws, staples, or adhesives + Build, install, and repair structures, stairs, mantles, and furniture + Repair or construct custom furniture pieces as needed + Move and install machinery and set elements + Work at heights using ladders, stilts, and top beams + Ensure work meets safety standards, code requirements, and specifications + Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying tools to ensure accuracy + Maintain a safe and organized work environment + Forklift operation (certification a plus) You Have: + Previous experience as a carpenter, set builder, or similar trade role + Strong working knowledge of hand and power tools + Ability to read and follow blueprints, drawings, and verbal instructions + Solid understanding of construction methods and safety practices + Physical ability to lift heavy materials, stand for long periods, and work at heights + Flexibility to work varied hours, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and overtime as needed + Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills + Ability to work independently and as part of a team + Forklift certification preferred, but not required Position Details: + Type: Seasonal + Department: Production / Set Operations + Work Environment: Warehouse, on-site builds, live event locations TelevisaUnivision is an equal opportunity employer.
