Carpenter Helper

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Carpenter Helper with hands-on experience in concrete form building to support our construction teams in executing high-quality structural work. The ideal candidate will assist in setting up, maintaining, and dismantling concrete forms, and support carpenters in various tasks including layout, material handling, and site preparation.

Responsibilities

Assist in the layout and setup of concrete forms for foundations, walls, columns, and slabs.Hold, supply, and organize tools and materials for carpenters.Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using precision tools.Operate basic power tools under supervision, such as saws, drills, and mixers.Mix, pour, and finish concrete as directed.Clean and maintain work areas and tools.Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings (preferred).Support carpenters in framing, drywall installation, and trim work as needed.

Essential Skills

1+ years of experience in concrete formwork or general carpentry.Familiarity with rebar installation and concrete finishing.Ability to read blueprints and layout plans.Comfortable working at heights and in outdoor environments.OSHA 10 certification.Experience in construction (commercial or industrial) with a focus on concrete.Proficiency with hand and power tools.Own reliable transportation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Form building experience is highly advantageous.Ability to measure and mark materials to 1/16 of an inch.

Work Environment

The role is based in an outdoor construction environment, requiring comfort with working in various weather conditions and at heights. Dress code includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, Texas. Locations include COTA, Spicewood, or a North Lamar Church site.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
