**Job Title: Carpenter Foreman** **Job Description** We are seeking experienced Commercial Carpenter Foremen to lead carpentry and drywall crews for our Grand Rapids office. This hands-on role requires the foremen to be in the field all day, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency standards are met while traveling between job sites as needed. **Responsibilities** + Complete all assigned jobs on time and within budget. + Attend startup meetings to establish labor and special order items, discussing the scope of work and job site conditions. + Conduct daily huddles and toolbox talks to plan and coordinate daily tasks, setting goals for team members, and evaluating performance. + Manage personnel needs and communicate changes with the job superintendent, recording all labor activities. + Maintain clear communication with the general contractor's job-site foreman or project manager on scheduling, resolving difficulties on the job. + Anticipate material, scaffolding, and equipment needs, placing orders with the office. + Maintain a clean job site. + Document extra work and ensure proper authorization before commencing. + Track equipment shipped to and from the job site, ensuring proper inventory and return. + Attend weekly progress meetings and represent the company professionally. + Round up all materials and equipment post-job and arrange for pickup, scheduling a job closeout with the superintendent. **Essential Skills** + Commercial carpentry foreman experience + Commercial carpentry experience + Blueprint reading + Supervisory experience + Proficiency with carpentry and drywall hand tools, mechanical tools, and sanding tools **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Texturing experience + Plaster experience + Ability to work independently **Why Work Here?** Join a very solid company that offers great benefits, including 401k and profit sharing. Projects are commercial construction sites with hours from 7am to 3:30pm, with occasional overtime as needed. Foremen will be on-site until project completion. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kalamazoo, Michigan. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $35.00/hr.
