Carpenter **Portzen Construction** 1 Positions ID: 87296 Posted On 02/09/2026 **Job Overview** Portzen Construction is seeking full-time Carpenters. **Primary Responsibilities:** + Read blueprints + Assist in building concrete formwork, pouring and finishing concrete + Rough framing wood or steel studs + Finish carpentry including doors, cabinets, countertops, interior and exterior trim + Ability to take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed + Work with Foreman or Project Superintendent to successfully complete projects + Ability to understand carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction + Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools including powered saw, hammers, rulers, etc. **Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:** + Must be at least 18 years old + High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required to join the apprenticeship program + Good understanding of basic math + Able to read and understand construction documents + Able to follow safety guidelines at all times + Squat and kneel repeatedly throughout the day + Lift 75 lbs. (one sheet of BBO plywood) repeatedly throughout the day + Will work in varied conditions including hot and cold exterior conditions + Must wear personal protective equipment provided This position is a full-time position that can be seasonal, some travel may be required within a 150 mile radius of Dubuque.
