Job Title: General Shop Helper
Job Description

Join our team as a General Shop Helper where you will play a crucial role in maintaining and refurbishing trailers. This position offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities to develop and enhance your technical skills.

ResponsibilitiesTear out drywall and replace it as necessary based on the layout needed for upcoming job sites.Utilize basic hand and power tools effectively on the job.Operate a spray gun to paint both the interior and exterior of trailers.Remove existing flooring and install new laminate or tile flooring.Document completed tasks on trailers using a paper-based system.Operate a forklift to move or lift objects around the yard if the primary operator is unavailable.Assist in cleaning windows, blinds, doors, floors, and walls as needed.Essential SkillsProficiency in HVAC, plumbing, maintenance, repair, and electrical work.Experience in construction and framing.EPA Universal certification.Experience working in a manufacturing environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsHandy Man type skills or maintenance experience in apartment complexes.Mechanically inclined and coachable.Pride in workmanship and willingness to get hands dirty.No certifications or specific licenses are required.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Work in a smaller shop with 15 technicians where units are dropped off for repair and are then sent back to construction sites. The standard shift is Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with potential overtime during the spring and summer months due to increased workload.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, Oregon.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
