The Campus Buyer is responsible for overseeing several campuses’ site procurements.  The primary responsibilities include supplier negotiation and management, collaboration with internal departments, purchasing of materials, equipment, supplies and services in accordance with prescribed purchasing regulations and procedures.  The Campus Buyer will review and analyze purchase requisitions, investigate and develop sources of supplies, prepare routine RFQ’s/RFP’s. review quotes, interpret purchasing procedures to departments and vendors, act as a liaison between user departments and vendors.  This position requires the use of initiative and independent judgment. Analytical thinking is also required to produce carefully thought-out results. The Campus Buyer will control the work process from beginning to end.


Pay Range: $21.00 - $30.00

Qualifications

Education / Experience

BS/BA degree in Supply Chain Management preferred but not required.Minimum of one to three years of purchasing, expediting or related experience required.Working knowledge in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Oracle PeopleSoft, and Workday preferred.

Skills

Supplier relationship building skills.Knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures. Negotiation of vendor pricing and terms.Strong interpersonal/teamwork skills.Ability to prepare, analyze and execute RFQ/RFP’s.Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.Strong verbal and written communication.Analytical problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.

Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 5 pounds or less 5% of the workdayMust be able stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 5% or less of the workdayMust be able to talk, see, hear, concentrate, think, learn and reason for all of the workdayMust be able to sit and walk or otherwise move around for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday.Must be able to use a keyboard and do manual tasks for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday.Will require minimal overnight travel.
