Camp Leaders support daily camp operations, engage campers in meaningful activities, and serve as positive role models throughout the summer.

Essential Job FunctionsAssist in planning, organizing, and leading age-appropriate activities within a designated program area.Maintain active supervision and ensure a safe, structured environment for all participants.Consistently enforce safety rules during activities, trips, special events, and open play.Demonstrate high energy, flexibility, and creativity—especially when campers are idle, disengaged, or need redirection.Complete assigned responsibilities thoroughly, and proactively assist co-workers and supervisors as needed.Provide excellent customer service through positive interaction with campers, families, and the Rockville community.Promptly communicate unusual situations—such as injuries, accidents, behavioral concerns, or emergencies—to the Camp Director.
QualificationsKnowledge of recreational activities and ability to plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain a positive, professional demeanor.CPR, First Aid, and AED certification may be required (training provided at no cost if needed).
EXPERIENCE:
Experience working with children required.Experience assisting with or leading recreational activities preferred.EDUCATION:
Youth Camps: Must be at least 16 years old and currently enrolled in high school.Teen Camps: Must be at least 18 years old.
