About This Opportunity

 

As Camp Director, you will be responsible for: coordinating all planning and administrative tasks prior to camp to ensure staffing, registration, logistics, and communication are in place. During camp, you will support daily operations, staff, camper logistics, safety procedures, and serve as the main point of contact for parents.

 

Position Specifics

 

Responsibilities:

 

TASKS PRIOR TO CAMP:

 

Create clear guidelines for hiring and what positions are needed with job description for each one that is needed. Handle the hiring and contract information for all staff.Handle coordinating volunteers.Budget and selection of dates for summer camps and sessions offered.Purchasing shop items and handling clothing for each season.Set up online registration.Chart weekly updates of registrations.Handle requisition of all forms required.Give lists of food allergies and intolerance to food services team.Supply weekly list of campers by site to all volunteers, staff and food services.Swim tests: Request and supply swimming test information from imis to Waterfront Director.Make necessary supply purchases for summer camp. (Food services handles the food shopping).Handle communication with parents.

 

TASKS AT CAMP:

 

Make sure all sites are cleaned and ready for opening with necessary items stocked.Oversee workload and training of staff prior to the start of camp.Help with the food, shopping and unpacking.Coordinate delivery online clothing shopping.Set up the camp store and tuck shop.Welcome all campers on arrival day and departure day.Oversee the delivery of luggage.Sorting and delivering the camp mail. Make sure camp operates in a safe manner with procedures being followed and help wherever you are called upon to help.Handle all communications with parents(s).

 

 

General

 

Adheres to all relevant policies, procedures, and practices.Provide general, ongoing support to members/volunteers, responding to/directing inquiries and consulting with the appropriate groups and individuals to support the mission and vision of GGC.Apply organizational policies regarding diversity, inclusivity and equity to content, member communication and customer service.Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

 

 

Be at least 18 years of age or provincial/territorial minimum age standard.Current Standard First Aid Must demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of all Safe Guide procedures and have a knowledge of Excel

 

Hourly Salary Range: $16.60
