Under the direct leadership of the retail manager, the barista/cashier is responsible for preparing quality drinks accurately and consistently, with a commitment to providing excellent customer service. The Barista will take and process guests’ orders correctly and accept payment. Interact with guests in a friendly, knowledgeable, and polite manner. Act in a professional and trustworthy manner. Call guests by name when their drinks are ready. Describe and sell products and retail merchandise. Complete duties assigned by the Manager
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT(S):
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior experience as a barista in the care/usage of a cash register and cash handling is preferred. Mathematical skills are essential. Prior experience in retail or institutional food services is preferred. Must be able to interpret and apply simple instructions. Communication requirements include the ability to comprehend the spoken English language in addition to being able to communicate and read the English language.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:
Welcoming customers, informing them about specials or new items, answering questions, and accepting orders and payments. Operating Point of Sale system and cash handling, including daily deposits. Prepared, ground, and blended coffee beans, brewed coffee and tea, and served items to customers. Packaging food and beverages for sale. Selling coffee, tea blends, and other goods, highlighting the differences between items, and educating customers about menu items. Cleaning and restocking work areas, emptying trash, and sanitizing equipment and utensils. Learning about brewing methods, beverage blends, food preparation, and presentation techniques to improve food quality. Updating signage and displays to attract customers. Taking inventory and replenishing items in display cases, at tables, or behind the counter. Working as part of a high-energy team. Adhering to all food safety regulations and quality control processes. Prepare food as assigned by management, properly documenting required temperature logs. Salary Range: $16.72-$21.92 /hour Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
