Job Description Our client is looking for a new hire for the developing Mapping Department. This is an onsite position in Sterling, VA. We play a supporting role for our Right of Way Department by creating overall easement maps and homeowner plats from the legal documents and title work provided to us. We also deliver basemaps to our designers which they use to create their overhead and underground designs. The most challenging part of this job will be reading through title documentation such as deeds, easements, and plats and gleaning relevant information from them that you will then draw in AutoCAD. The basemap you use in AutoCAD will be imported from QGIS, so while a knowledge of GIS would be helpful, the majority of the work will be taking information from title documentation in drawing it in AutoCAD.
