The Opportunity
Actalent Services is hiring a CAD Designer to produce 3D assembly models and detailed drawings for hydraulic power units and related pneumatic and electrical systems. You’ll spend most of your time building and maintaining assembly documentation in SolidWorks, with exposure to clients and cross‑functional teams.
What You’ll Do
+ Create and revise 3D assembly models and assembly drawings (SolidWorks) for hydraulic power units.
+ Generate and maintain BOMs, file management/PDM structure, and drawing standards.
+ Produce pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schematics (SolidWorks Electrical or AutoCAD).
+ Support documentation, compliance, and release packages.
+ Join occasional client meetings to clarify requirements and present design updates.
+ Collaborate closely with engineering and the lead CAD technician.
Work mix: ~90% drafting/documentation; ~10% client meetings and related coordination.
Must‑Have Skills
+ Proficiency with SolidWorks for assemblies (manipulation, creation, and detailing).
+ Working knowledge of AutoCAD or SolidWorks Electrical for 2D schematics.
+ Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic components, and basic electrical drafting principles.
+ Experience creating assembly drawings, BOMs, and managing design files.
+ Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline.
Nice to Have
+ CSWP (Certified SolidWorks Professional) credential.
+ Experience drafting hydraulic power units or similar fluid power assemblies.

Your Team & Focus Area
You’ll join a small group of two CAD Designers who’ve specialized into their strengths; this role will focus on hydraulics and assembly‑level work (more assemblies than one‑off parts/components).
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bartlett, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $31.25/hr.
