Job Description
We are seeking skilled Cable Pullers to support shipbuilding and repair operations. The Cable Puller will be responsible for installing and securing electrical cables throughout various ship compartments. This role involves interpreting schematics, using hand tools, and working closely with electricians and engineers to ensure proper cable routing and termination. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role that plays a critical part in the successful delivery of naval and commercial vessels.
ResponsibilitiesSupport new ship construction work, cable placement, pulling sheathed cables through ducts and stuffing tubes.Move equipment and materials as required.Install cables in shipboard cableways using approved methods.Climb ladders and physically pull cables.Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, technical manuals, and other documentation.Push long, flexible steel ribbons (fish tape) or rods through ducts.Attach wire to rod or fish tape and pull wire through ducts.Secure and band cables once pulls are approved.Monitor prescribed areas for any suspicious or potentially hazardous conditions.Activate alarms and contact emergency response personnel as necessary.Use phones and wireless communication devices to share concerns and information.Essential Skills2+ years of experience pulling, laying, and securing electrical cables in industrial or shipyard environments.Ability to interpret electrical diagrams and follow routing instructions accurately.Proficiency in using cable pulling tools, fish tape, drills, and other hand tools.Knowledge of OSHA and shipyard safety protocols.Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in tight or elevated spaces.Additional Skills & QualificationsFamiliarity with shipboard electrical systems.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.Use of hand and power tools.Physical stamina and ability to work in confined spaces.Eligibility to receive a company badge and ability to obtain DBIDS.Flexibility to work 1st shift and be open to moving to 2nd or 3rd shift.Excellent vision and attention to detail.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
Work will support the T-AO New Construction Program. The new fleet oilers for the U.S. Navy are designed to transfer fuel to the Navy’s carrier strike groups operating at sea, featuring double hulls to protect against oil spills and strengthened cargo and ballast tanks. The vessels measure 742-feet in length with full load displacement of 49,850 tons, and offer aviation capability and a speed of 20 knots.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
