Cable Assembler - Poway - 1st & 2nd Shift
**Job Title: Cable Assembler - Poway, CA - 1st & 2nd Shift - $25.96-$27.26** **Job Description** As a Cable Assembler, you will be responsible for building various cables used in aircraft and ground control stations. You will determine and follow methods and sequences of operations for assembly tasks, including wiring, component installation, hand soldering, and cable harnessing. Additionally, you will follow and comprehend assembly drawings or written work instructions to ensure accuracy in your work. **Responsibilities** + Assemble cables and harnesses according to assembly drawings and work instructions. + Crimp terminals and contacts onto wires using manual and automated tools. + Label assemblies in accordance with drawing specifications. + Perform soldering-tinning of wires, splices, and connections. + Utilize basic hand tools such as cutters, wire strippers, crimpers, scissors, soldering iron, and heat gun. + Monitor and verify quality in accordance with control procedures. + Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, and obligations during business operations. + Work safely according to established operating procedures. **Essential Skills** + High school diploma or equivalent. + Three or more years of experience in cable assembly. + Experience in cable assembly, soldering, and wire crimping. + Ability to read and follow blueprints, schematics, and work instructions. + Knowledge of crimping terminals/contacts onto wires with manual and automated tools. + Familiarity with basic hand tools and equipment used in cable assembly. + Good visual perception and ability to distinguish between colors. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Certification IPC/WHMA-A620 is a plus. + Understanding of 5S and Lean Principles is a plus. + Proficiency in reading, writing, and communication. + Customer-focused and good understanding of job aspects with limited technical comprehension. + Knowledge of computer operations relevant to the position. + Ability to work independently or in a team environment and willingness to work extended hours as needed. **Why Work Here?** This position offers stability and growth opportunities. The dress code requires long pants, no loose clothing, and closed-toe shoes. The work week follows a 9/80 schedule, providing opportunities for overtime. The first shift runs from 5 AM to 2:30 PM Monday through Thursday, with extended hours on Fridays and Saturdays. The second shift operates from 3 PM to 12:30 AM Monday through Thursday, with extended hours on Fridays and Saturdays. Personal devices like headphones and phones must remain out of sight during work hours. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Poway, CA. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.96 - $27.26/hr.
