**Position** **:** Mechanical Assembler
**Location** **:** Florham Park, New Jersey
**Shifts** **:** 6:30am-3pm (Monday-Friday)
**Pay** **:** $19-$20/hour ; Overtime: $28.50/hour
**Job Description**
We are seeking a skilled Cable Assembler to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling cable harnesses by following assembly drawings and performing various cable harnessing activities. This role requires programming and operating assembly machines, ensuring quality assurance, and participating in Lean manufacturing activities.
**Responsibilities**
+ Assemble cable harnesses using assembly drawings and perform activities such as cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, and labeling.
+ Program and operate assembly machines for cable cutting, stripping, and crimping, including machines like Komax, Schleuniger, and Zoller & Fröhlich.
+ Maintain machines and coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure preventive maintenance is completed on time.
+ Perform self-inspection of assemblies to achieve zero defects and support final inspection activities with the QC team.
+ Participate in Lean manufacturing activities like 5S and Poka-yoke to improve the production process.
+ Manufacture high-quality cable assemblies within the defined schedule to ensure timely shipments to customers.
+ Assist with environmental regulations by segregating and recycling cable, PVC, and metal scrap as per defined EMS procedures.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ High School Diploma.
+ Minimum of four (4) years of progressive responsibility in manufacturing cable assemblies using automatic/semi-automatic machines, hand tools, and soldering operations.
+ Knowledge of Lean tools such as 5S and JIT is preferred.
+ Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
