In this role, you will perform cleaning and general janitorial services in Campus Living’s residential and institutional facilities. Your duties will include:Clean and service buildings by sweeping and mopping offices, halls, stairways, and other unitsWax and buff floorsGather and dispose of refuseService lavatories and fixturesClean lighting fixtures, replace light bulbs, and wash windowsMove furniture and equipment as applicableAssist with sweeping walks, shoveling snowSupervise the work of other staff as applicable; provide day to day assignmentsRespond to requests and the emergency need for janitorial servicesAt Campus Living, we are a community that welcomes and celebrates every student, staff, and guest with all of their diverse identities, beliefs and ways of thinking. Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: • Applicant must be able to physically perform the tasks of the position and to communicate effectively to obtain and convey information.Departmental Operation Needs:• A NYS driver’s license or demonstrated ability to meet the travel requirement of traveling between campuses as necessary• The ability to quickly and appropriately respond to situations that require janitorial services.• Since activities of other employees depend on the availability of the employee in this position, reliable attendance is a factor.Physical Demands:• Routine tasks require light, moderate and/or heavy physical effort. Must be able to work from ladders and step stools. Must have the ability to stand, reach, stoop, bend, twist, lift and stretch for continuous periods of time.Preferred Qualifications:• Institutional cleaning is preferred.• Excellent attendance record and documented experience in supervising others.• A valid license to operate a motor vehicle in NYS is preferred.
