The Buyer / Planner is a day-to-day contact for Manufacturing/Engineering planning and is responsible
for escalating any issues should they arise. Additionally, this position contributes to delivering the
business asset plan in alignment with the agreed standards while ensuring production meets the master
production plan and inventory targets. The Buyer / Planner will also handle routine purchasing needs.
Responsibilities:
? Schedules changeover and production/maintenance plans, to ensure that all the necessary inputs
(such as access requirements, materials, equipment, resources, etc.) have been considered and are
available
? Ensures the Manufacturing and Engineering plan resources (equipment, people, etc.) are visible and
aligned for the best utilization to meet business goals.
? Assists in setting inventory policy and stocking levels for commercial finished goods per service level
targets and seasonality across distribution channels.
? Checks the accuracy of requests against product specifications and ensures that all necessary
paperwork accompanies each order or shipment.
? Assists reviewing new product specifications and unit production forecasts to determine materials
needed.
? Works closely with R & D on new projects.
? Work with internal, or external sources to create daily/weekly production schedules to achieve
desired customerservice level and inventory targets. Releases work orders to manufacturing and
track/expedites orders as needed.
? Takes proactive measures to prevent nonconformitiesrelated to products, processes, and quality
system.
? Identifies and documents potential issues related to the product, process, and quality system.
? Initiates, recommends or provides solutions through the designated channels and verifies the
implementation of solution
? Sets and maintains optimal inventory levels by analyzing customer demands, forecasts, and trends.
? Generates and manages purchase orders and sales orders.
? Monitors back-order items to ensure delivery and keep other departments (Sales, Engineering &
Customer Service) abreast of status.
? Develops and maintains strong relationships with suppliers. Identifies issues and trends to
proactively implement corrective actions and resolve disputes.
? Obtains vendor pricing, handle P.O.s, and plan forecasts for chief builds (i.e., one-off product
purchases, new products, unique orders). Interacts with Product Engineers if parts are unavailable or
price prohibitive.
? Creates and maintains department metrics and enforces and adheres to purchasing procedures.
? Integrates year-end inventory statistics and trends into annual Vendor Management Reports. Assists
with production and maintenance of these reports.
? Update and create necessary standard operating procedures (SOPs)
? Maintain dashboards for high level analysis
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Prior experience in a similar role within the medical device, technology, or pharmaceutical industries is highly preferred.
