Job Description
We are looking for a proactive Buyer/Planner to ensure a consistent supply of materials, optimize inventory levels, and maintain robust supplier relationships. The role involves finding solutions to material shortages, reviewing material reports, executing purchase orders timely, and negotiating with the supply chain to address material needs and open order issues.
ResponsibilitiesProcure and plan all materials, products, and services for assigned cells.Create spreadsheets as required for analysis and reporting.Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to identify suppliers meeting organizational quality and commercial standards.Maintain open communication and strong relationships with suppliers, addressing part shortages or concerns to ensure timely customer shipments.Monitor and update all purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in pricing, delivery dates, and quantities.Work with Accounting and Receiving to resolve pricing, delivery, and receipt issues, following through on root cause actions.Collaborate with the Materials and Sourcing team to set up and maintain the Kanban CAD system for material flow.Develop supplier agreements that align with company initiatives and enhance business partnerships.Maintain inventory charts and review them daily to ensure optimal inventory levels.Essential SkillsA.S. or B.S. Degree3+ years of experience in material purchasing within a lean manufacturing environmentProficiency in MRP and Kanban systemsExperience in Purchasing, Scheduling, and Manufacturing PlanningAdditional Skills & QualificationsAdvanced skills in MS Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPExperience in using ERP systemsStrong analytical and negotiation skillsWork Environment
This role operates in a manufacturing shop floor setting with a one-shift operation. The schedule is from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, and the dress code is business casual. You will join a team of over 100 employees dedicated to maintaining efficient production operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Blauvelt, New York.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
