Qualifications Here's What You Need: Education * High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Experience * 3 Years of relevant buying experience, preferably in healthcare or in a specialty supply chain category, is required. * Prior experience in vendor negotiation and inventory control experience is preferred. Skills: * Basic Microsoft Excel experience. What You Will Do: Generate and submit purchase orders in accordance with policies and procedures. Resolve match exceptions, credit holds, payment errors, and resolution of unclaimed property. Follows up with vendors to expedite overdue purchase orders, resolves problems with credit/outdates, and inquiries about status of orders and other needed information. Monitor adherence to contracted pricing and quantity discrepancies for purchase order transactions under respective purview. Research the cause of discrepancies and address these issues using the appropriate processes. Manage all transactions, verifying that transactions have been received by distributors, identifying and resolving errors, following up on re-orders and maintaining the appropriate documentation. Research non-routine supplies for availability, best price, technical data on usage, etc., using all available resources such as internet, company customer service and catalogs. Confers as necessary with departments on requirements, specifications, quantities and delivery dates. May suggest alternatives and cost implications. Works with Accounts Payable regarding merchandise receipt and payment to vendors, verification of price discrepancies on invoices and credit refunds.
