Job Title: BuyerJob Description

We are seeking a motivated Buyer to join our team. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, ordering, and expediting materials, with direct responsibility for materials managed by the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system. This role is crucial in ensuring the availability of materials to support production and service needs.

ResponsibilitiesAssist the Purchasing Manager with sourcing, ordering, and expediting materials.Manage MRP changes with the supply base to support material availability.Review and validate immediate and forecasted purchase requirements.Update and modify purchase orders and inventory schedules as needed.Schedule purchased parts to meet production and service forecast requirements.Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any delivery constraints.Serve as the primary contact for designated suppliers regarding scheduling and delivery.Manage inventory balances to support inventory 'turns' goals and customer flexibility requirements.Select vendors for parts purchases, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality standards, and delivery requirements.Monitor and collaborate with production to ensure timely flow of materials through the factories.Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, and documents.Ensure compliance with all safety and work regulations and maintain departmental housekeeping standards.Collaborate with production staff to process non-conforming materials accurately and promptly.Engage in hands-on inventory storage and improvement projects.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsProficiency in inventory control, management, and purchasing.Experience with MRP/ERP systems, preferably JD Edwards.Strong skills in data analysis and technical proficiency in Excel and Word.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks, scheduling, and documentation effectively.Solutions-driven with strong problem-solving abilities.Ability to work collaboratively with production, accounting, sales, and management teams.Additional Skills & QualificationsDegree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, Procurement/Acquisitions, Business Analytics, International Business, or Information Systems.Relevant certifications such as CPM, CPSM, CSM, or CPIM.Experience in supplier audits and procurement and supplier management.Work Environment

This position operates Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, primarily within an indoor office environment with frequent sitting for extended periods. Occasionally, exposure to a manufacturing environment with noise and outdoor elements may occur. The role may require lifting up to 25 pounds and attending meetings frequently. The use of personal protective equipment, including safety shoes, glasses, and hearing protection, is necessary. The role involves utilizing a personal computer and other office equipment.

This is a Contract position based out of Wooster, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
